Curtain House – Shoreditch

Works for RED Construction Group 2025

The project involved the delivery of the full fire stopping and intumescent paint package for the refurbishment of Curtain House. Commissioned by Red Construction Group, the scheme focuses on revitalising the historic six-storey, 54,000 sq ft building, originally constructed between 1881 and 1887, into high-quality Cat A and Cat B workspace.

Through extensive refurbishment and sensitive restoration, the project introduces new structural walkways, rooftop terraces, and an elevated main entrance and reception area. Works also include detailed external masonry and window restoration, refurbishment of the existing timber floors, and repair of internal brickwork and exposed steel columns.

GSI’s scope of works included the complete fire stopping package and the application of intumescent coatings to structural steelwork throughout the building, carried out in accordance with the project’s heritage, safety, and performance standards.
