Fire boarding to structural steelwork will protect the steelwork from failing in a fire situation, thus maintaining the integrity of the structure for up to 240 minutes. Fire board composition ranges from gypsum-based plasters or calcium silicate, through to fibres and specialist vermiculite containing materials.
